| Foi estudado o desempenho produtivo e reprodutivo de bubalinos mestiços Murrah-Mediterrâneo nas condições de terra firme de Rio Branco, Acre, no período de 1985 a 1993. Os estudos foram realizados na Estação Experimental do Centro de Pesquisa Agroflorestal do Acre (CPAF-Acre), da EMBRAPA. A base alimentar dos animais experimentais constituiu-se de pastagens de quicuio-da-amazônia (Brachiaria humidicola) , Andropogon gayanus e Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu. Os resultados mostraram que os bubalinos apresentaram um ganho de peso diário de 610g até os 24 meses de idade, com um peso vivo de 441kg. | Foram analisados os dados de quatro anos, das fases de cria e recria, de 468 matrizes do sistema de produção da Embrapa Gado de Corte. Esse sistema, com animais da raça Nelore, utilizando pastagens cultivadas e lotação média no período seco de 1,4 unidade animal por hectare, apresentou taxa de prenhez média de 87,5%, sendo 87,3% para as vacas adulttas, 68,8% para as primíparas e 88,5% para as novilhas. Vacas entre o terceiro e sétimo partos foram as mais eficientes, com taxa de prenhez acima de 90%, intervalo de partos de 365 dias e 325 dias para parir após início da estação de acasalamento. | The genetic diversity of three microsatellites (ILSTS027, MBO22, BM4325) mapped on the bovine chromosome 15 and linked to the follicle-stimulating hormone beta gene (FSHß) was investigated in cows of a Brangus Ibagé herd and the efficiency of these markers for individual identification and parentage control was estimated. Possible associations between each molecular marker and cow reproductive performance were also analyzed. Six alleles were detected in BM4325 and ILSTS027 and 12 in MB022, the most frequent being BM4325*101, BM4325*103, ILSTS027*169 and MB022*229. | The aim of our study was to investigate the effects of suckling on reproductive performance and metabolic status of obese (mean body condition score of more than 4.0 on a scale of 1-5) maternal Japanese Black cows during early postpartum period. We used 7 postpartum Japanese Black cattle. Four cows were suckled ad libitum (suckled) until completion of their first artificial insemination (AI), while 3 cows were not suckled at all because they were separated from their calves immediately after parturition (non-suckled). | The objective of this work was to identify factors associated with the 56-day non-return rate (56-NRR) in dairy herds in the Galician region, Spain, and to estimate it for individual Holstein bulls. The experiment was carried out in herds originated from North-West Spain, from September 2008 to August 2009. Data of the 76,440 first inseminations performed during this period were gathered. Candidate factors were tested for their association with the 56-NRR by using a logistic model (binomial). | The objective of the present study was to evaluate the supply of a specific-male diet on rooster body weight, hatchability, and fertility. Two diets were supplied during the egg production period: treatment 1, diet formulated for females and containing, in average, 2,830 kcal ME/kg and 15% CP; and treatment 2, diet specifically formulated for male broiler breeders, containing 2,750 kcal ME/kg and 13.5% CP. | The aim of the present study was to investigate nutritional and metabolic parameters during the dry and early postpartum periods of ovulatory and anovulatory cows, as well as their postpartum reproductive performance. Blood samples from 20 multiparous Holstein cows were collected once a week from the far-off dry period to 3 weeks postpartum.
